This graphic novel can also be read in a short span of time because it is presented in comic-strip format. Though all scenes are given and the dialogues as well, some part of it is puzzling particularly with relationship among characters. Many characters are interrelated from one another by blood, family friend, and such and I need to go back few pages to read again their description and how they are connected from others. The story is unpredictable and has lot of twists. As I go on with the pages, the story unfolds. I catch myself in the end realizing the reason behind every scenes since the beginning of the story. I find scenes that are gross, maybe because I'm seeing visuals in the book rather than just imagining them. I also see scenes that are similar to other novels. Not directly same as what is written to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga but I think, it has same concept specifically when the boy meets the girl. In Twilight, Edward can't hear Bella's thoughts while in My Midnight, Yael can't put Midnight under his spell. It is also common to a vampire stories or odd stories where the protagonist is trying to research unusual things about the person then will ask the person for assurance then she will be more attached to him. If this is based on a novel, I really appreciate the effort of people who made this artistic graphic novel. The book is thought-provoking and very interesting. What makes it more exciting is that the story involves supernatural beings that have goals to achieve which helps the story move forward. Details are vividly expressed and can be understand. The climax is kind of “bitin” and the ending and conflicts are easily resolved.
